'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house...

The team at Apex Digital cannot believe that we are staring down the barrel of Christmas 2015. It’s been a huge year for the team and we’ve managed to create some amazing websites (D) and undertaken some significant Digital Marketing (DM) services for some clients over the year. While not often over the past year have we had the time to reflect on the achievements of the team, the Christmas period is one that we are looking forward to in terms of recharging the batteries and looking towards even greater heights for 2016. While in reflection mode, we thought it might be a good opportunity to put pen to paper to highlight what Christmas means to us individually.

But before we get into that, one important cause (amongst many others) we want to highlight is that of the New Plymouth Food Bank. We’re happy to support this worthy cause, and the team once again will be hitting the streets of New Plymouth on Monday December 7th as part of the volunteer collectors for the annual drive. Remember to put some non-perishable items on the fence or mailbox, we’ll be there to collect it. And please, spread the word – every bit of awareness via social media and talking with others means a better Christmas for those less fortunate.

“Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Not only is it wonderful having family and friends around, but the whole vibe of our beautiful community changes; people become a lot more relaxed and festive, getting together for Christmas at the Bowl and the Santa parade, plus decorating homes or hitting the streets to see other dressed up houses. It’s great to see the generosity that still greets collectors for the food bank appeal too - what a fantastic place to call home! I hope it never changes.”

“Christmas to me means turning off the alarm for 3 glorious weeks, achieving very little before lunchtime, enjoying the warm summer days with family and friends, engaging in a fair bit of cricket watching, taking up new hobbies that gets put by the wayside during the year and making ridiculous New Year’s resolutions that will be broken come first week of January.”

“Christmas means opportunity. Opportunity to put all worries aside and have fun in the sun with family and friends. As a yank living abroad, I’ve happily adopted the Kiwi summertime Xmas traditions involving beaches and barbeques. Getting the family and friends out of the house and onto the beach is a beautiful thing and I’m really looking forward to this Xmas!”

“Christmas to me means an early morning, a big breakfast, excited children, a big lunch, ham, new potatoes, family, an afternoon snooze on the couch, nut crackers, pine needles, mackintosh’s toffees, paper hats that are too small, batteries, silly jokes you’ve heard a hundred times before, backyard cricket, pavlova, strawberries, sixpence in a cake, a big dinner, chocolate, wine, early to bed.”
